Why stay here
A rare spot in the square
Sutherland Cottage is a small, family-run beachfront stay in Low Newton-by-the-Sea on the Northumberland coast. It sleeps four and suits couples, small families, walkers, swimmers, birdwatchers, and anyone who wants to be in the village rather than a drive away from it.
The terrace opens straight onto the sand, the square is outside the front door, and Dunstanburgh Castle is visible along the bay. For many guests, that combination is exactly why they come back year after year.
What to expect
Simple, comfortable, and brilliantly placed
Inside there is a well-equipped kitchen, a cosy sitting room with a log-burning stove, a newly fitted shower room, and two bedrooms. Outside there is parking for two cars and a private terrace that catches the light beautifully.
The location does most of the heavy lifting: beach mornings, pub lunches at The Ship Inn, evening walks towards Embleton Bay, and long views across the water in every season.
